Ashmont Elementary School is committed to the academic and personal success of all students. The success of our school depends on the cooperation of school staff, teachers, students, parents and the community.


“Together we enter, together we leave, helping each other grow and succeed” is the school’s mission statement. Ashmont Elementary School is focused on student academic achievement. Our school has a well equipped modern library, one computer lab, computers in every classroom (desktops, laptops, iPads and Chromebooks).  Every student has access to the Internet as well as varied programs to meet all educational needs. In addition to standard programming students are able to take a number of options: Cree, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Each of our teachers and support staff develop positive relationships. with students to increase the chances for academic success. We expect everyone to work hard and achieve his or her personal best and we celebrate our many successes through positive recognition and encouragement.


Ashmont Elementary School


ECS to Grade 6


Ashmont Elementary School is located in the hamlet of Ashmont, Alberta and is under the jurisdiction of the St. Paul Education Regional Division # 1. The school serves approximately 290 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. There are 21 teachers and 35 support staff (including instructional assistants, custodial, secretarial, library, Cree Instructor, FNMI Liaison, Family-School Liaison, and Success Coach).


Indian and Northern Affairs Canada funds approximately 90% of the student population. These students are from the Saddle Lake and Goodfish Lake Reserves, which lie in close proximity to the Ashmont Elementary School. Ninety-seven percent of students are of declared First Nation, Métis and/or Inuit heritage.
